P0837 - I know what it says, what does it mean?

I have a P0837 code listed out on the odometer, the only code listed. I know this code is labeled, "Four Wheel Drive (4WD) Switch Performance / Rationality". My question is, what does that mean? As far as I know the four wheel drive switch is functioning properly, it switches in and out of 4WD OK when I move the lever. So, what symptoms should I be looking for? Anyone had any experience with this code?

Transfer case position sensor might be bad or the wiring to it. Maybe some water in the connector?

Thanks, I'll check into those things when it warms up a bit. It doesn't sound like it's the kind of thing that would require immediate attention. <g>

It will be a soft code. If it doesn't get the fault again within a certain # of key key counts (10 I think) it should clear itself. Don't quote me on the amount of key counts.
