Recently lost injector on my 2006 5.9 cummins with 140000 miles and decided to replace them all with new connected tubes. Did that and now it runs fine no codes unless I hook up the horse trailer and get after it then I get this code po148. Double checked seating and torques and all was good

Will depend on what you used for replacement injectors and tubes. A bad set of injectors will cause issues.

On the other end of the spectrum, it is a checksum error so it could just be a bad connection on the RP sensor.

I used new bosch injectors and cummins connector tubes that were a little different from old connector tubes but the tech at genos assured me they were upgraded

Where did you source the injectors from? What did you TQ the cross over tubes to? Did you make sure the tube not threaded in easily? Did you install in the correct sequence? Lots of little things can go wrong.

You may just have one of the trucks that is sensitive to changing out stock parts. The 6.7 style tubes are larger to flow more fuel which can cause the ECU to think it has a leak somewhere.

If you were unlucky enough to get remans being passed as new the later tubes are known to cause issues mating. should not but it is still a common problem.
