After doing a bit of research, I went out and got these codes, here are my symptoms, truck has 89k miles, I have had a fuel pressure gauge on since nearly day one, My lift pump has always worked fine and continues to do so.

in the last couple weeks my truck has been sluggish and down on power, sometimes after parking the truck and running into the store real fast I come out restart the truck and get some hesitation in acceleration, then it seems to clear up, but over all the truck is down on power, on a long grade that I normally can hit 70mph on with my trailer, I was only able to hit 63mph barely. I can still spike the boost to 22lbs and it settles at 20psi, also egts appear normal for the grade

last month I replaced my fuel sender hose, its a tapped banjo bolt from genos and now has a grease gun hose hooked to it to my sender, It seems like after I messed with this is when the problems started, I had a lot of trouble getting the truck to restart afterwards. is there anything I could have done to cause this, a piece or dirt, brass or teflon tape?? I am worried that if I take the truck in for the problem they will try to blame it on me for using a tapped banjo bolt and modifying the fuel system by hooking up a pressure gauge, The truck has never had any fuel box or other mods Any thoughts??

teflon tape doesnt work well with diesel fuel. you could have air still in the system. if it started after the work you did, you may have created an air leak go back and check ,and get rid of the tape. I use aviation sealer generally available at auto stores. hope this helps.

Do you mean P0216? If so, it's "fuel injection pump timing failure", which is related to a dying VP44. A typical symptom of this is "dead peddle" which could be the hestiation you are describing.
