Read most of what's been said about this code... just had it occur on my 2013 3500 Laramie that's new to me since Nov of last year... Now about 56K miles...

Cleared the code and all seems fine... but I'm concerned about what's been said about the SCR and other items... what is the engine and emission warranty for the parts related to this code...

Thanks for your thoughts...

Jim

Take a ride in to your friendly dealer and have them check to see if the SRC has been updated you'r truck falls in the recall/ replace group.

They are currently working through the recalls on the 2500 SCR systems, and fighting with Cummins on who pays. I stopped at a dealer just yesterday to check on the 3500 SCR recall that is listed for my truck with no parts available at this time. I got a P247E on the way home from Arizona. Service writer new about the recall but had no info on when parts would be available. Jim like me will have to wait as we both reset the code to motor on.

Jim, go online and see if the SCR recall is listed for your truck. www.ramtrucks.com owners tab.

Ram and Cummins have been pointing fingers as who is going to pay for these recalls. Last I heard Cummins had spec-ed out what parts and which vendor to use. Ram chose to use someone else and guess what their parts are not holding up hence the recall. I really don't care who's at fault I just want my truck to work right. I have to say since I had the recall done it has never run so good. I think they got it right finally. Who know maybe my next truck will be a Ram again..... After all the software and hardware issues I had with the last two trucks I was really tempted to go Ford....

Latest UPDATE.....

Trip #4 to dealer, this one in AZ where we are for the winter... Dealer tells me when the T05 recall was done, the ammonia sensor was NOT removed per the tech instructions so he removed the sensor, reset the P20EE code and returned the truck to me.... he had the truck for 3 days... This is after 2 calls to Customer CARE.....

10 miles after getting the truck back I've now got a new code, and the ECM is looking for the Ammonia sensor, can't see any data from it so its setting a new code...

Trip #5 to the dealer, now #2 to this dealer in AZ... he (service writer) was surprised that I was back in just a few days and under 20 miles from when I picked up the truck... plugged in his note book to the ECM and agreed that the ECM was looking for the missing sensor... said he'd get a tech on it right away.... I reminded him that there were now 3 calls to customer care and they had a tracking number for my needs.... I reminded him that customer care would work with his store to rectify the issue.... as of today, its now been 4 days they have had the truck and no phone call.... so the truck has now been in the hands of the dealers for more than 30 days all together...

Of course my worries are for next spring... we intend to head cross country in March for a 10K trip...

This is nuts.....the new scr has no hole to mount the sensor. So I have to ask was the scr cat changed?Did they just leave the sensor hanging and not installed? Was the Ecm updated with the correct software pkg.
There is a Facebook group for 6.7 performance that has people with all kinds of Mickey Mouse jobs done on that recall.World full of butchers or just not able to read and comprehend the recall procedure?

Maybe they need more pictures and connect the dots for the techs. Bob you are not included in this.

Bob4x4, after the trip #4 I was given the sensor as a removed part, well not actually the sensor its self but the small computer attached to the wiring harness with both ends cut off.... so could I assume they cut off the sensor at the time of the T05 and left the small computer/circuit board attached to the wiring harness, not disconnected and what ever repair they need to do to the hanging wires....

My point is that I'd like to take this truck cross country in the spring towing my 5er.... a 12K mile trip and now after all these recalls I can't seem to trust the truck.....

What should I expect from Chrysler Customer Care, should I call them again while the truck is at the dealer and see if they will get involved again??

If they just gave you the controller part,it’s hard to say.Maybe they left the sensor in the removed old cat.Perhaps they did not use the correct software

That would be my guess that they flashed the truck with the wrong flash. Granted I've got a 2500 not a 3500 but when the did the SRC update they removed the Ammonia sensor and in my case they just cut the wires and sealed the ends. I resealed them as their job was less then up to my standards. I live in road and Ocean salt if an electrical connection is not sealed all hell breaks loose once the salt find it's way in...

MAYBE THE FINAL UPDATE......

Trip #6 to the dealer in Casa Grande, now their 3rd work order...

This trip is within days of the return of the truck after trip #5 to the dealer...

I now looked the service writer in the face, said to him "do you remember our first conversation, and how you were to contact Chrysler Customer Care (STAR) for help with this truck" "DID THAT HAPPEN" he sort of sloughed off my question.... and with my stare he finally said "NO"... I said "lets now make that happen"

So now less than 1 day later I get a call back... truck is finished... they did contact Customer Care, and Customer Care walked the tech through the repair... they replaced the SCR again, and related parts, with a software upgrade... I'm told that the old software with the ammonia sensor in the circuit was sending down too much DEF into the system, and that the SCR was plugged, and contaminated... with the software update and the new SCR the truck has now been code free for over 600 miles.. the longest its been that way since the T05 recall was done...

SO if I write and explain my issues with the dealer who did the incorrect work do you think I could get a refund on later work that was done in error?
