Ever had this code be temperature dependent? Haven't had this code for a year or so. The first warm weather and it popped up. It turned cold again and it gone. Wouldn't this like be a connector problem in the engine compartment?

I want to unplug C130 (or is that C331?) on the firewall and C1 and C2 at the ECM. Some questions on doing this properly.

1. I assume I should disconnect the Batteries first, True or False?

2. Should I not try spraying the connectors with cleaner BEFORE disconnecting them?

3. C1 and C2. Don't I have to remove a nut or screw in order to disconnect? They are hard to get to and I can't quite see whats down there. Personally I have to disturb them being 10 years old. Seems like asking for trouble.

4. Once connectors are disconnected what is the best maintenance procedure? I would assume to spray with contact cleaner and reassemble or is it appropriate to add some lube to the connector as well.

PS I have an 06, 3500, (diesel of course)

Yes from what I remember there is an allen screw in the middle on each.

Thanks for the feedback. If it is an allen screw, I would assume it is metric ?? I redid the battery grounds on the fenders, the battery terminals, and the firewall connector. So far the code has not come back. I hate to remove the ECM connector if I can keep from it since to me there would be much room for error. Also would I have to disconnect the battery or can I pull a fuse somewhere to get the same result?

Navyjoe, I had a phantom P2127 and a real Visitronic fan code. I found a wire at the visi harness rubbed through, and possibly shorting. I replaced the clutch and haven't seen 2127 in a long time. I also had a slight idle stumble that made me change the FCA that didn't help. The idle problem also vanished when I changed the clutch. I'm assuming the short was dragging down VREF or the bus.

That is interesting. Computer controls in a vehicle like ours can drive you nuts sometime. the controls design really needs to be more robust but we probable couldn't afford the cost if it was. I just traded cars with my son. He had a 2000 Pontiac Sunfire. I am amazed to drive that car. The only thing automatic is the transmission. Manual door locks, seats, windows, trunk, rear-view mirrors (the right side doesn't even have a inside knob), radio. It stuns me how simple a car can be.

YES- but even still there are electronics in that car too. I remember a GM J body just like that one that drove me nuts. It was a rotted pin in the fuel pump relay - another story from another time.
I'll give you my Duster. Now THATS simple. It only has 5 fuses! The slant 6 cars are what almost put Chrysler out of business the first time. They left the dealer and never went back.

HA!! My wife had a duster when we first married. You are so right. That slant 6 was a great engine!
