While pulling my 5th wheel, the engine check light came on. When coming to a stop while in tow haul mode, the transmission acted like the torque converter did not unlock in that the truck bucked at around 10 miles per hour when stopping. The error code was P2262. I took the truck to a Dodge dealer and they spent about 7 hours doing what they had to do to correct the problems which cause the error code. However the torque converter still appears to lock up. The bucking was quite severe. All of this happen when the transmission is in tow haul mode. The transmission preforms normally out of tow haul. Any ideas as to what is going on??

The trouble code is for the turbo, unrelated to the transmission. The bucking, from what the dealer told me, is from the transmission trying to decide what gear it wants, or the torque converter lock and unlocking, or both. .

Yes I understand the code is related to the transmission. But everything was fine in that the transmission worked as designed including the performance in tow haul until the error code appeared. The has to be a connection somewhere. But where?

It is possible to have the transmission de-rated until the code is cleared and/or the problem resolved. The entire truck is run on many different computers that communicate with each other. Kind of scary some times if you think about it.

Thanks for the reply. Yes I am guessing that the exhaust brake, engine, and transmission all talk to each other. This problem happened immediately after the check engine light came on. What does "It is possible to have the transmission de-rated" mean. I have never heard the term derated.
