P2580 Code

Well, I just got the truck back from the dealer after they did the service for the P2262. I got about ten miles and got a new CEL light. Can anyone tell me what the P2580 code is. I did a search but did not find it.



I have got to say that I love this truck. It is my first diesel, but the continued trips to the dealer are really starting to get to me. #@$%!

P2580 = Turbocharger Speed Sensor Circuit Low

I have done most of my own vehicle work for 20 years but I have never had a diesel or turbo charged vehicle, sorry if this is a dumb question. Does this mean that the turbo is not spinning at the proper speed or should I assume a sensor issue? With the turbo having just been flushed I assume that there is something wrong with the sensor or the wire to it.



Either way it goes back to the dealer for the 5th time. It was in at 420 miles for the first new turbo. I am figuring that I am getting close to the second now.

The early turbos had to remove the speed sensor to install a jig,then drill and tap for the cleaning operation so it could well be a related issue.

This is a circuit fault, so they could have left your sensor unplugged perhaps.
