I had an error that showed I needed to replace the TPS (throttle Position Sensor) and after that received an error P2580. Replaced the Speed Sensor, deleted the codes, the code P2580 keeps popping up. The original sensor checks out ok at 900 ohms, decided to replace it anyway as it was damaged getting it out. Have a backup on order from Geno's.

What else do I need to look at?

Also, anyone know of a good decent mechanic in the Tri-City WA area?

Perhaps double check the pin connections on both plugs.....and add some dielectric grease? Perhaps look for any chafing on the wiring harness to that connector?

Just because you have a fault code related to a sensor does not mean the sensor needs to be replaced. Following any good diagnostic procedure has you check for wiring concerns (open, short to ground, short to battery etc) with the last step being the sensor if all other checks test good.

Ok. Turns out it was the MAP sensor was bad. I frequently get the error code telling me it is faulty, I clean it and everything is fine again.

This last time it caused the other error codes but did not trip the MAP sensor one.

I did also look at the grounding and good signal. All appeared to be ok, I was just looking at the wrong side of the engine based on the codes I was reading.

Took it into a local shop and it was they that were able to find the problem. I am thankful they did. It was worth paying for their expertise. My rig was NOT going into the dealership.
