My check engine light came on today. It read the code P2607. What is this and is it a major issue? I have a check code list, but does not list anything over 1900's codes. Truck runs and sounds good. No color smoke at all (if this matters). Thanks.
Thanks. What is it and its function? Is it ok to drive around for a few days? I won't be able to get to the dealer until Tues. plus I want a little education when I go there.
The intake heater relay turns on one or two intake heater inside of your intake horn. On the my 96 there are two intake heaters each heater has it's own relay the computer supplies ground to realys then relays supplies power to heaters.
But in the third generations they mite and probably work different. Your computer monitorsthe relay(s) voltage and the intake heaters.
Unless your intake tempatures are below 59 you won't have to worry about it but should find out why so you will be ready to go when cold weather comes around.
