My thread is closed???? Check it out.

Wish I was the winning bid on this one...

Got a F-700 with a 6 BT and the guys are complaining of a loss of power. So far I have only found a leaky Delivery valve in the P7100 (#1). No blow by from dipstick or smoke to speak of.

1st Can I just remove and replace the seals without worrying about timing...

2nd If this doesn’t fix it where do I start, is there some ref I can be using to help trouble shoot or send it out.

I am not really set up for this type of work i. e. diesel trucks, need to buy the special tools for this, not a big deal but part of decision.

Thanks

Early P7100s, before around 1995, had aluminum sealing washers under the DVs, but I expect your issue is the green o-ring around the screw in top ("holder"). You need a special splined socket to remove it. Tighten it to 29 then 85 ft lb in one smooth motion.

Just like any 12 valve, check the boost. If it has a boost leak the aneroid won't move and let the fuel plate give it enough fuel to run good. Check the boots, intercooler, (if it has one) and the small hose from the aneroid to the head or turbo.
