Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) P7100 Questions

I've read about '215' pumps and '160' pumps. . Little confused. . I have a 175 hp '95, 5 spd. . Is this the same pump as the '160' and what about the 215. Thinking about moderate bombing (ha. . ha. . ) and would like to know more about these pumps. . and their differences. . Is it worth going to a 215 pump? I'm shooting for 270HP to 315HP neighborhood, but also looking for 'street' driveability and durability. . Thanks JohnG

All 3 pumps are differnt. But your goal can be reached with your pump just fine. All 3 would bomb to that figure just fine.

Take a look at my sig, I have no doubt that I am real close to 315hp. There are other more expensive ways to get there, but that's how I did it and I didn't have to do anything to the pump. I also think that all my toys cost less than "just" a 215 pump.



P. S. My stock manifold was cracked, so I replaced it with the ATS one, if yours isn't damaged then there's no reason to change it.

Mike, once upon a time I had a #4 in the middle, 4k's, timing and a 16 cm housing on a stock 35 that made 378/832.

Anyhow, was the truck you had the #4 in also a '95 w/ the 175 pump? If so then I may be making a good bit more power than I thought.

Nope Mike it was my 98'! I did another 98' auto last year with a #10, 3K's, and timing that made 285/697.
