I was just curious if anyone on this site has pulled or will be pulling at the Smithton Hole? I am thinking about pulling on May 26 & wondering what track conditions are like down there. I have never been there, but here alot of talk about some PowerJokes that are winning every event. Is this true? Anyone attending this event?

Where is this place located? Im from South Central PA(McConnellsburg) and never herd of this place.

It is off Route 70 in Smithton, PA. If you get off the PA turnpike onto route 70... . it is like 2 exits west on Route 70. My brother went last year & said he had a great time... . also said that a Powerjoke is taking top honors down there, but he just tries to get me to pull.

I've pulled there a few times and there's usually a good turn out of diesels. I don't know about a Powerjoke winning every pull, but there are a few good ones that pull there. The track condition varies depending on the weather because the "hole" truly is in a hole near the river, when the weather is wet the track takes a while to dry out but when it's dry out the track is dry. They usually put on a good show, and if you check their website you will see that they have alot of different motorsports and special events to offer.

I did a job right down the road from the hole... . got to check it out briefly. Looked like a descent track. I just like to pull for fun... . kinda hooked! My brother just tries to get me fired up by saying "there were only a couple Dodges... . Fords always win". I have only pulled twice at the Greene County/ Fayette County Fairgrounds... . getting antsy to do it again. I pulled once with my stock clutch 280ft. Then a Luk single disc... . 287ft. I only had 90hp injectors & edge comp at the time... . not bad considering I was hooked to Decision Maker... not the lighter sleds. Got 4th place at Fayette!

What kind of classes are there??

Do you think it would be worth it to make the trip from Scranton???

Michael

I don't even know where Scranton is. Go to map quest & check directions to Smithton PA. The hole is about 40 min. from Uniontown,Pa. , West Mifflin, Pa. It is 30min from W. V. border of Route 70. 5min West of New Stanton,Pa. 1 hour 15min. from Morgantown, W. V. 7min West of PA turnpike [get off at Route 70 exit & go West] Just trying to give some ideas. I can be reached at 724-323-4998 if you need directions. Jamie
