Does anybody happen to have a spare cylinder for a pacbrake that they could sell or know where I could find one? Mine has been going out and needs replacing. In the cold, it sticks open and shut and is a huge pain but hasn't acted up in the wrm weather... . until today. I am stuck at home with a broken pelvis and got that dreaded call from the girlfriend, who is pulling a horsetrailer through Montana telling me something was wrong. After talking to her for a minute I was able to diagnose the problem that the brake was stuck closed. Usually just turning the ignition off and right back on will free it up but not this time. She had to shut the motor off and pull the rod out with some pliers. I told her to just not use it anymore but that is un-acceptable for long term. Any ideas where I can get another one?

Is it air or vacuum operated? If it is vacuum, it might be low vacuum or throttle switch out of adjustment. Also might be the vacuum switch sticking. Or are you already sure it is the cylinder?

I doubt it will be the air cylinder. Each time mine did this,it was the butterfly sticking. Even cleaning the soot off it regularly and applying the Pacbrake lube only lasts so long.

Better not use it until she gets home.

i am positive it is the cylinder. the valve moves in and out effortless both on and off the vehicle. She used pliers to push it in, but only because she was afraid of the heat in the area. It could possibly be switch. I have had the thing off once this winter and tried lubing the crap out of the inside (as suggested here on the TDR) to try and salvage one more year of use, but no luck. PacBrake sells one for around $110 but I'm tryin to find a deal! ;)
