Just read in a forum on another diesel site, some guys removed the small spring from the vacuum valve, anybody here try that? I think I should contact Piers.

I do not know about price, but give member jelag a PM. I just got my PacBrake from him, good group to deal with. Jim and Pacific Brake and Clutch. Hope this helps?

Is it the solenoid that is stuck, and not working? They become contaminated and need service. Or has it just gone heywire? Pacbrake sells that jewel for around 85 sea shells. There was a service article done in one of the recent TDR mag. on this.

Yup I think it's just done for already. I've cleaned it... . alot. I also swapped the hoses to see if it was the actual brake malfunctioning, or the valve not switching. Seems it was the valve, not the brake itself.

Is it something you can get at Graingers? They have a selection of solenoids that are 12v. Or McMaster-Carr?

Does it work some of the time, or not at all?

Have you tried by-passing the Throttle switch? is the switch still out on the gear case? Do you have the -incab- switch? Checked the fuse?

My T- switch went bad, called pacbrake they didnot have a replacement, called local dealer they wanted $50. 00 for it. So I went to a electronics store, bought one for nine and modified the bracket and moved it inside to the throttle pedal. Works great.

It works sometimes, it actually worked better with the old valve that I thought was bad, it's not as bad as the new one though, weird!
