Looking for a great vendor/price for a Pacbrake system for my truck. I would prefer it is someone that also carries the clutch switch as well as that seems to be a little tougher to find.
Ended up ordering it through Thoroughbred Diesel. Very good to work with, shipped fast and arrived quickly.
I did call Pacbrake themselves and they acted like I was retarded when I asked about ordering directly from them. He said it would be more expensive than through a distributor.
This happens a lot when trying to go direct. This guy was giving you a heads up on price, it is good idea to do some research to find the lowest price and to put your mind at ease with a good outlet. Did Tweety's and the item was shipped direct from the supplier that distributed the item cheaper.
I may be wrong but I don't think you will need a separate clutch switch. When I put the pacbrake on my '07, 5.9, I didn't need a clutch switch. The pacbrake somehow gets a signal from the ECM and that took care of needing a clutch switch.

I see what you are after. I just put the two speed rear axle push-pull switch on mine and it is a breeze to down shift and re-engage the pacbrake. From a "Murphys Law" point of view, less is better.
I sold the product for a lot of years and we carried the clutch switch... its the same clutch switch used in a class 8 truck so any of the truck dealers should have it on the shelf... I suggested to all the customers to try the system as it's designed... it has a built in delay (in the ECM) but the delay is different based on the programing of the ECM... and if after installation they didn't like the stock performance they could call back and I'd send them the clutch switch without freight...
I can't remember a customer ever calling back..... BUT if you want to wire it, and not use the feeds available from the ECM than you might want the switch.....
Several comments... pull the inner fender on the passenger side for ease of installation.... once you have 200 or so miles go back and tighten the clamp from the turbo to the pacbrake... usually they will draw up 2-3 full turns... so you'll want that clamp positioned so you can get too it from the top down..... pull the ECM connector off the ECM to install the pins... the most common problem is those pins not snapping into place using the instructions in the kit that says pulling the connector is not required... we always pulled the connector on an installation and listened for the click of the connector... Leave it on... so that it can't soot up...
Put the tank where you can get to it to drain the water once a year or so... I have my air bags tied into my system.. and have a small regulator under the hood so that I can change the air pressure when I change the load...
I have the Pacbrake on an 06 with the auto. Had to get the transmission rebuilt, now the pacbrake doesn't like to engage when downshifting. I have to hit the throttle a couple of times, then it'll usually engage. Seems to be getting worse. Any thoughts? I'm wondering if it's the Throttle Position Sensor.
I do not know on the 3rd gens, put on the 2nd gens we calibrate the APPS after connecting the batteries by turning on the key and slowly depressing the pedal three times. Then turn the key off before restarting. If the APPS is not sending the correct idle position, then the brake will not engage.
