Yup, same here, ordered mine from Pacific Brake and Clutch, excellent people to do deal with and will take care of you first rate. Plus, their price beat anyone else on the internet. Scotty
 
Sounds like Jim (Jelag) at Pacific clutch and brake his customer service as seen by all the responses above speaks for itself :)

I recently changed from a turbo mount to an Inline Pacbrake and Jim took care of me as well.

Did you notice any difference in performance of the Pacbrake when switching from the turbo mounted to the inline unit? I've heard that the inline is a bit slower to respond since there is a greater amount of volume in the exhaust pipe to pressurize.



Do you have the new PRBX (sp. ) model? If so, how do you like its performance. I've heard that they respond well even at lower rpm's.



Do you guys haul larger trailers? I have a 25' Nash that probably weighs in the 7000/8000 lb. range. I live in the mountainous West & do a fair amount of mountain driving. Honestly, I haven't noticed a huge need for compression braking with the 6-speed trans. (NV-5600). What do you guys think?



I'm not sure that I want to go through life 'without' an exhaust brake. For me, I think it's more of a 'want' than a 'need'.

Yes I noticed a little more delay but very little, I think it is because the air line is longer now a tkes more time to pressurize, but the difference in activation on the two models is negligible.

As for the PXRB model: my first one which was the turbo mount was not a PXRB but it sorked flawlessly and I have since given it to a fellow TDR member for use on his truck, The new inline Pacbrake which is the new PXRB I noticed has a 45psi solonoid relay on it as my old one only had a 25psi solonoid relay and the new PXRB has about the same braking at 2500-3000rpm but around 2200rpm and down it slows WAY better than the old model, VERY good, I leave my Pacbrake on almost all the time and constantly have people tell me my brake lights are not working... But I am not using them... .

After my Turbo install I drove about a weekwithout the Pacbrake and it sucks going without when you are used to having one, I would constantly hit the shifter switch and wait for it to engage only to realize it was not there:eek:

If you are anywhere near northern Ca. I will gladly let you take my truck for a drive and let you try it out. I tow a 30ft 5er and the pacbrake works awsome for towing and like I said earlier awsome for around town and on freeway even when not towing, I believe there was a post a while back about who liked there exhaust brake and it was Unanimous, I dont believe I could ever go without again towing or not.

You may say you dont feel a need for compression braking with the 6 speed... Its because you have not realized how it could/should really be:-laf

My trailer is 40' Toy Hauler and is close to 15K Loaded. My last 2 Dodges had a Pac and a BD brake. This time I went with the Jake Brake made by Cummins, it cost me $1200. installed and uses a Vacuum pump. Instead of a air compressor and the response time is much faster then the Pac. I have been towing in the mountains and have had no trouble with the brake at all. And I like the fact that it carries the same warranty as the truck, and if anything happens because of it. It's under warranty!

With the Jake I keep my foot off the brake and let it do all the work, having a 6 speed helps allot too.

The Vacuum pump is running all the time, so there is no lag waiting for the compressor to kick in. And there is no noise.

I had a Jacobs E brake dealer installed when I got my 03 new. At 169K mi. my vacuum pump shot craps for the 2nd time. Since I already had a comp. and tank for my air ride, I bought the PXRB for a little over $200. more than the vacuum pump was going to cost. (that was with out the comp)

The Jacobs was alright, but believe me, the PXRB performs much better, it has more brakeing power, and works down at much lower RPM, and is much faster, maybe 1/2 second delay.

And at 300K mi. now, have had no problems at all.

Pacific brake is great, but I got mine from RIP at source automotive and not only did I get it for a great price, but he found the closest one as far as location (warehouse) goes and had it overnighted at a price only you call and get... Thanks again RIP!!!
