Warming Up My 6.7 In Cold Weather

While washing my 2011 last month I noticed an oil leak from the lower passenger side of my A/C condenser. Appears the A/C refrigerant discharge hose connection to the condenser is the source of the Polyalkylene Glycol (PAG) leak. From looking at the hose online, it has an o-ring that makes the seal for the connection. Tightening the small connection bolt hasn't stopped the flow of oil. Imagine the o-ring is the problem. Since I won't require A/C for many months living in Colorado, will the lose of the PAG oil damage the compressor even if the A/C is turned off?

kthaxton. Thanks for your reply. After reading your comment, I consulted my owner's manual. And yes, the AC compressor operates in the Mix and Defrost, or a blend of these modes even if the A/C button isn't pressed in order to remove humidity. I'll refrain from A/C or defrost until I get my situation corrected.

If it's leaking PAG oil it's most likely leaking (or has already leaked out) the refrigerant as well. At some point the pressure will drop low enough to prevent the compressor from coming on at all (if it hasn't already).
