For those of you who have GENO'S Painless Wireing Kit, what location did you use for the switched hot source?

The instructions say to locate a fuse in the factory panel that's hot only when the ignition key is turned. I'm assuming that they mean the fuse panel that's inside the cab on the left side of the instrument panel. ( If that's the case, I already found a source, cigaret lighter. ) In the main fuse block in the engine compartment, all locations are hot when the ignition is off.

Also,,,,,,, where did you mount the painless fuse block????? There's not many choices in the engine comaprtment to choose from!

Thanks in advaance...

Can't remember what source I tapped into for power but the block is mounted just to the right of the steering wheel under the kick panel.

I stuck mine on with epoxy on top of the engine fuse block cover under the hood. Power came off of the fuse panel in the cab with an add-a-fuse. works good after 3 years.

There are a couple of places to p/u switched power. The harness running across the top of the firewall has a grey wire for the fan and also a dark blue that you tap into for the Jacobs. Either one will work. There are also unused relay sockets in the fuse panel which have one leg switched and you can just use a spade connector to plug right in. I hinged my center kick panel so that I could open it any time I wanted and placed the fuse panel on it. See below...

another method is to use a pressure switch off the top of the oil filter housing, fed directly by the passenger battery through a fuse link of appropiate size for the intended use. There is a slight delay after the engine is started, but in my opinon, that is a good thing. In my case, my air horn compressor is connected in this manner; any leakage in the lines or tank will not turn the compressor on or drain the battery unless the engine is running!
