Saw a nice looking truck in the classifieds, the owner had painted the fog light trims and the mirrors white to match the body. I haven't had much luck doing that with my other vehicles, any suggestions?
To do it correctly you need to use a plastic adhesion promotor or the paint will crack and flake. Surface prep is important also, IE cleaning, degreasing, and wet sanding smooth plastic parts with 800 grit paper. Martin Seynour paints (available at NAPA) has a pretty decent sysyem for use with an HVLP gun or similar. They have OEM paint codes and can match your trucks color by your VIN. There are better paint systems out there, but there are also much worse. I would personally stay away from the puff can jobs if it is a nice truck, but thats just me
