I replaced my front bumper with a Ranchhand two weeks after I got my truck so I've never had to deal with this problem. The problem with painting plastic is that not much sticks to it. It will probably chip off easily. If you are looking to redo the gray color, you can find a dye that will soak into the plastic, restoring the color.
