Is the Paris - Dakar Rally being broadcast anywhere??? I haven't found it on any of the regular auto channels.

Thanks.

I already posted this in the "other" forum on here. I didn't get any real response. I think Speed Channel dropped it. They are scum, the sun does not rise and set by NASCAR. It sucks too since there seems to be more American interset than ever. More Americans participating and OLN is doing a series on how KTM picked riders for their "team USA". I don't know why no one is carrying the telecast.

I watch Speed channel all the time and I am getting tired of the MTV influence. The NOPI show is the worst they flash cars by so fast I can't even tell what they are. The Paris to Dakar rally was one of my favorite things to watch but I suppose they can't easily turn the entire broadcast into a infomercial.

Thanks for all the replies. I enjoyed the race altho I read somewhere they cut this year's race down by 2000 miles for some reason. I especially enjoyed the offroad trucks. Those were behemoths!!!

Paris to Dakar

Nascar Robby Gordon is driving a VW Toureg in the rally, He won the first section which was in Spain an is now in Morocco,I heard he won another section and was running in the top 10 at about the 6th day.

I'm glad to see it will be on OLN, after it's over  . I will still watch it though (thanks to Tivo). Speedvision used to be great with their coverage, 1 hour a day of the previous days stages. Speed channel really is a step down from the old Speedvision. Yes the production has improved, but 7 out of 10 times I turn it on I get some kind of NASCAR something or other. I'm just bitter I guess.

STAGE 6: a few updates from the Dakar.com site: After crashing his Volkswagen Race Touareg, Robby Gordon (n°317) was seen repairing his vehicle. It appears he has front break and gear box worries and is awaiting an assistance car. Meanwhile Giniel De Villiers (NIS – n°314) suffered a puncture at km 360. After suffering a crash at km 410, Colin McRae (NIS- n°308) was taken back to the Zouerat bivouac by helicopter. The Scot appears to be injured and was therefore forced to withdraw from the race.
