Just scraped snow and ice off the new truck for the first time and noticed the park sense flags a near obstruction when in reverse when in fact there is nothing there. The buttons on the rear bumper are clear. Is there something other than the black buttons on the rear bumper I should be cleaning the snow/ice off of?

A little bit of melt water gets in beside the little sensor button and then freezes thus changing the sensors ability to sense the vibrations/frequencies freely and makes it think it is getting a signal of something near or that it's dysfunctional and sets off the alarm just in case. Once the water evaporates/melts out of the sides of the sensor, it will go back to normal function. Even if you can't see it, the water is there in the sides. Very routine in the winter snow belt area.

Thanks. I was sure warmer weather would fix it, but I've become additicted to the park sense and the backup camera so I hate to be without it. I can't move out of this colder weather until after Christmas, but the truck has been handling it well. So glad the truck came with heated seats and the steering wheel heater.

Any little buildup will cause the parksense to shut off. It works for the first part of the day after I've pulled out of my heated garage but by the time I get home it's off. Anything below freezing causes it on this truck and my wifes 2010 1/2 ton.
