Ok lets start at beginning my head lights didnt work so i changed the headlight switch still didnt work so i looked it up and read about the wire pulling out of multi switch on steering colum so i took it apart and that was the problem pushed the wire back in and the headlights worked so i put it all back together then i noticed my taillights and clearence lights arent working so i tore it apart again to see if i pulled a nother wire out or somthing everthing looks good but pushed on them all anyway still nothing checked all fuse in both places still nothing im i missi g something. the dash and dome and hazard and turn signal lights all work just not marker and clearence lights

Does anybody have any ideas do the clearence lights and marker lights go through the multiswitch or some thing. Why did they work before and not now. When i changed the pull switch for the headlights the old one had what looked like a ground on the end of it and the new one didnt.

Tail(marker) and clearance lights should be on light switch. Check fuses.

Were the lights working after new switch put in? If not the mail terminal could of been bent over 90 degrees (that's what happen to me except it was headlights not working).

I fixed it this is what it was the tab on the orignal headlight switch was for the clearence and marker lights the switch they gave me was for a halfton so thats why it didnt have the tab now its all better. I have one more? I found this relay looking thing way back in the wiring does anyone know what it is exactly and what it is for. Thankx. Ps attached a pic

Headlight relay

I believe they put those in there during a recall notice for up to the 98 year trucks. They had issues with the headlight switches burning up due to the full current running running THROUGH the switch. This took the load off and significantly reduced the risk of fire.
