Off the wall question here and web/forum search isn't turning up anything. Also, can't find anything in exploded views.
How loud is your parking brake when you release it? I'm talking about the pedal returning to the full, up right position. I ask only because mine is way loud. Such that it startles people 50' away.
Is there supposed to be a snubber/strike pad to soften the blow? I've taken to guiding it up with my foot to avoid the crash of pedal arm to release stop.
2011 Laramie 3500 CC. Thanks, in advance.

It has always been a good practice when the brake is set to push down a little, pull the lever and ease it up with your foot. The mechanism will like it and your wallet will like it.

Did you guys know that if you pull the release handle more slowly the brake will release more slowly - and quietly?

I actually learned that from another owner as well. Try it...

Mine seems like a binary system... either latched or released and hurtling toward BANG. There is no in between :)
