My parking brake release lever inside the cab recently broke. The plastic fitting on the backside the holds the cable broke. I can still release the brake by reaching behind and pulling the cable with my fingers but I would like to replace the broken part. I can't find one on LMC - what are some other sources of this part?

I feel your pain - could not fine this little part anywhere - so had to replace the whole unit for $60. 00

Good Luck

JL

Try Dodgetruckparts.net I've ordered a few hard to get parts & they seem to come up with them. Take note that they are a dodge dealer out of Texas, but when I needed a lower engine gasket kit & there were only 3 at the time in the USA, they got it for me. It might be listed in their collision catalog... ... ..... Good luck

If anyone finds this part please post. couldnt locate it online, and the dealer told me that it was discontinued, ( i'm starting to see a trend with discontinued parts. ) Until I find the part, I just hope the jbweld will hold.

My local dodge kept them in stock in lee summit mo in various colors I changed it in parking lot in aabout a minute they are available still this was about a month ago

I found the part at Mopar Parts Overstock.com (Sep 2016)I have the same problem as Bob did, how do you get the wire nested into the hole on the brake pull lever? Thanks for any help John H.

Wow, that was over 2 years ago. I had to have the dealer install it. It was not easy even for them to do. I've forgotten their process!

The part is available. I tried fixing mine with a washer and epoxy. It worked for a while. Try here https://www.amazon.com/DODGE-PARKIN...75238550&sr=1-2&keywords=brake+release+handle

They are not that hard to install. You'll need to take out the release rod to install the new release. On reinstallation of the rod, install the end that connects to the release lever first. At least I think that is what I did because I didn't want to risk breaking it again. Honestly, I know I just looked at and did what made sense.

Great! I didn't try to take the rod out. Probably didn't even think of it! Hope I won't have to replace it again.
