2001 Dodge Ram 2500 Sport 6 spd HO Aftermarket Headlights and Tailights

So i leave work yesterday and when i get home the parking lights wont shutoff. Pull the switch off the wiring harness and still the lights wont shutoff i pull every fuse i could see involving lighting and no luck... So i pulled the battery terminals and off i go today to see what damage i can do.

I was wondering if anyone had any wiring diagrams that would help or any ideas of where to start... . Once again all parking lights are on front, top, and rear.

Thanks

George

One thing that can be overlooked is the wiring involved with the tow package trailer plug and socket.

If you are in a rust belt state the corrosion can build up in the socket itself and create the same situation.

Remember, there is constant 12 volt back there for the trailer charge line and if it crosses over from either pinched wiring or corrosion than the other circuits can energize.

Good place to start before you dig too deep.

I had a similar thing happen to me. The LED 3rd brake light in my topper shorted out and burnt the wiring from it to the left tail light it was hooked to. It also heated up the wiring down to the trailer plug.

Anyway, my brake lights wouldn't go out unless I disconnected the trailer plug. I took the plug apart and found ONE STRAND of wire was going from the brake light terminal to the constant 12V terminal. Straightened it out and all was fine.
