2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission part ID pls

Looked under the truck today and noticed that a control rod, running from the bottom of the rear LH shock aprox 12" to ?? was hanging loose at the top end. Replaced it onto the bushing it came from but obviously needs replacement. Can someone id the part and let me know what its function is?

Thanks for the pic. It is the rod #7 which dissconnected at the top end. I have put it back unto its bushing but the fit is very loose. What does this assembly do??

Brake porportioning valve. Controls the amount of pressure going to the rear brakes depending on the load in the bed.
