Part Number Please

I need to replace the defrost/heater door actuator. The check valve failed in vaccum pump and put oil in the vaccum system. First it took the cruise control and finally the actuator for the a/c and heater door. I need to know what parts to ask for when I go to get them. I want to know exactly what I need so the parts people dont give me the deer in the headlight look. And does the mopar4less web site have this type of stuff? Also if you guys know of some of the short cuts to installing this item I would be greatly appreciate it.

Wasn't there a TSB out covering faulty check-balls in vacuum pumps? Maybe your truck is too new, I think maybe it was for 94-95 and some 96 trucks. I also thought I heard somewhere in the TDR that the vaccuum system in our trucks has some sort of longer warranty than the 3/36 (like the warranty that covers rust/corrosion on the sheet metal panels). I'm not very sure about this, but it might be worth looking into before purchasing all those parts.

The TSB/Recall only applied to a limited number of trucks that were produced WITHOUT the check valve. Anyhow, the part is called an actuator or diaphragm sub-assy. Mine is a '96 but it's probably the same. It's P/N 04720279. It's on the left side of the heater box and can be changed by just removing the lower part of the dash under the steering wheel. My manual said to remove a lot more but it's not neccessary as you will be able to remove it as noted above. I did it and so can you!
