Last winter I blew the spider gears to pieces on my 3/4 ton. The friction disks in the limited slip wore out and under a big load things had a bit to much clearance producing a loud bang and the truck tried to jump off the ground. ( 15,000 LB bulldozer on trailer attached to truck had nothing to do with the failure :-laf )
My ring and pinion, housing and axle shafts was ok, I also did not replace the outer bearings on the wheel hubs.
I purchased parts from Linn Machine in Brookfield MO, any drive line dealer should be able to help.
Spicer bearing kit 706861x
Spicer oil seal 42449
Spicer bearing kit 706045x
Spicer diff kit 707254x
Spicer bearing kit 706047
Spicer shim kit 708020
What is the chances we could start a sticky with partnumber for replacement parts? At the time I blew my axle I had to do some digging, everyone wanted to sell me a rebuilt axle, I stumbled across this drive line dealer and he fixed me up with parts. I posted the numbers for everyone's benefit. Jon
