I think I read on the forum that there is a replacement window switch for the rear doors other than the OE switch.....

I've diagnosed the problem down to the switch but can't seem to remember if there is an aftermarket switch available... .

If you know of one would you share it... .

Thanks

um... if you have interior electrical issues with the rear doors, )some times the frt doors, or dome light)

then the very common cause is the wires are broken between rear door and b pilar inside of black rubber boot.

if your really talking about the switch assembly, then i don't know.

I'd bet the farm that it's either broken wires at the back doors or the lock-out switch on the drivers window switch assy. If your handy with a solder iron then you can fix the switch once and for all.
Try this, pound the lock out switch on and off about 20 or 30 times and see if the windows start working from the back.

BTW, an aftermarket switch assembly is available through Rock Auto for about $104 last time I checked.

Prairie Dog... the info on Rock Auto was what I was looking for... . the rear door switches are $19. 00 with a little different button than the one my truck has, however the rest of the switch looks like it will plug in and work... I saw the price for the master switch but failed to notice the price... it must have been the amount you mentioned.

BTW - I was able to remove the connector at the bad switch, jump the connector with 2 wires and work the window up/down and the ohm meter test from the service manual on the switch failed... thus my need for the switch information...

Thanks for the help

Hi Jim,

I think that those are a Dorman Product.

Just looked one up using your '04 and come up with this one.

Dorman Products - 901-437

You may have a local parts house with the Dorman line right in town.

Mike. :)

I'm packing up for a trip... it was easier to order from Rock Auto and have it mailed to my next point of call and then I'll have time to install it.....

Retirement is grand.
