I searched the posts but couldn't find anything on this. My driver's side air is blowing 45 degrees and the passenger side is 65 degrees. This was running at 1600 RPM with 100 degree ambient.

Any ideas ?

Low freon does that. Should be lots of posts about that issue. Do to the types of long life antifreeze used most all car and trucks do not have heater cut off valves and haven't in a number of years. I'd hate to find my heater core full of hard crystal mush or worse because of a cut off valve. There is a reason for that design and wanting coolant to flow constanly.

I'd think that a man in your line of work would have a 24V actuator tied into the enthalpy sensor along with your co2 sensor and OAT sensor,..... No ?

Pressure and temperature are relevant, as pressure lowers (loss of charge), so does temperature. So, if a system gets low on refrigerant, it usually gets colder and freezes the evaporator coil first.

I would guess you have a blend door broken or stuck.

Most people try and add more refrigerant, and then the pressure increases, and the temperature rises, so it does not cool worth a darn.

Have someone, who has knowledge about the system, diagnose it first.

One more time. LOW FREON.

Friend with 03' had the exact same problem. Low Freon was the problem. Also, highly recommend against installing the heater core shut off valve. Without constant flowing water it can rust solid. Had this happen on a 60' Chevy P/U.

Well here is my story, went to the big city the other day, wife complained about the passenger side not getting cold.

Called the A/C shop in Lake Havasu City, AZ, people were very professional, LOW GAS IN THE SYSTEM. Now the AC will freeze your berries even at 114 OAT. The tech did say they are starting to see more and more 2003 models with low gas in the a/c

The AC folks in LHC know their business:D:D:D

Starting to see?? LOL Its been a plaque of poor ac pass. side since the FIRST summer of 2003 and then 2004 and and wait 2005 and not through yet 2006. Not enough time or info on 2007 or 2007. 5 6. 7s yet. Most of these FORUMS have been lighting UP about this every summer. Chrysler STILL fixing mine under warranty(new line replaced couple months ago) Because I opened a NOT happy file on mine back in 2004 or 05 for REPEATED same issue of low gas every 6 months. Plus they ALSO have blend door issues. The freezing occurs when the freon level drops a bit more then the warm ac pass side. Leave it alone and freezing on highway is next. But what the heck do I know.

OK, I should have been more specific for you DP, The techs are starting to see more 2003 trucks for low R134a gas. Which will over time leak out. That's the nature of the beast.
If you are having blend door "issssssues" too bad. Mine has worked perfectly from day one.

Its been leaking out every since they came out. By the hundreds or thousands. . Some system don't leak. I haven't added freon to anything I own for like 20odd years. My 1998 1500 has never had the system touched. In the last week had two friends call me one with a 05 the other a 06 with their passengers complaining of passenger side warm. It only has to be a little low for this symptom. A little lower and the freezing up at interstate speeds starts. This malady has been hashed out on these boards many times. There should be lots of info about this in the archives. P. S. when a blend door breaks you'll know it. Symptoms are NOT the same.

wrong place

You are trying to hook it up in the wrong place. You want to hook up on the "high side" which is on the passenger side back between the battery and the fire wall. There is another fitting back there where it gets hooked up.

Age over Mileage...who knew?

Low Freon was the culprit on mine this weekend. Exact symptoms of the original poster.

Pressure gauge was in the "Blue" (low) before starting, with aprox 15 deg spread between sides.

I put in one 18oz can, pressure went up to 35psi (green) (65f deg ambient) and compressor stopped cycling on & off so often. Actually, it stopped cycling altogether.

I didnt drive it yet, but confidence is high after seeing the results in the barn.

I reckon with just 20k in 5 years, one ageing wrinkle is okay.

Luck to all... .
