Pat Moore's (TURBO)Powder Coated Eliminator Pipe

Has anyone used the Eliminator Pipe (that fits between the air cleaner box and the Turbo), made by Pat Moore? I see that it's available from Geno's Garage. I was curious to see if there is much/any change in the noise of the motor. I am looking for more of a deep roar. Comments please... ... ... ... ... .

I have the BHAF and the lower baffle is gone and I have the eliminator pipe in the intake for the main baffle. The engine on mine does not sound any different. The turbo sure sings though. If you like to hear the turbo this is a good fix without getting a new turbo.

I used to have it on my truck. It will make the turbo noise a little more noticable. I now have an AFE intake and if your interested in the eliminator pipe I will sell it to you. P. M. me if your interested.

The AFE tube I just bought is metal... except for the lower elbow. Had it on the truck for 20 minutes and the top rubber collar cracked open. Looks like I sucked a bunch of dry wall dust off the freeway into the works through the crack too! The inside of the pipe was covered with it.
No problems with the engine yet but I quickly pulled it off and fixed it.

I've had my MPC Eliminator pipe in for a few weeks now, I like it. It looks sharp under the hood, but the verdict is still out on any increases in MPG. It does seem to sound a little different too, but not as significant as when I removed my silencer. The combination of the pipe and no silencer is NICE :-laf . I am in a bit of transition, trying to burn off this tank of fuel, the last remaining drops of winter blend, as well as any remaining Stanadyne and MMO in the tank. (im gonna try some Howes diesel treat next). I am afraid that any increases in MPG will go pooey because of the inevitable heavy foot one gets so they can get some good sound.

must have been really old stock. they told me it has been a year since they changed to the plastic tubes.

According to K&N Engineering, the metal pipe does not effectively transfer underhood heat to the intake air due to the velocity of the air in the intake. Apparently the air next to the edge of the tube is not traveling as fast as the air in the middle of the tube (no, I did not take fluid dynamics) so the air along the edge of the tube pretty much stays there and the air in the middle of the tube is what your engine is using. They said that there was an insignificant difference in intake temperature, but it was not identifiable on the dyno.

I think you cannot see it on the dyno as far as power goes. I would be more worried about egt's. it is seen there, use your choice though.
