Boost Gauge Noise question

New Exhaust

Nope, it wasn't in the forum. I was contacted by another TDR member who got a deal on a Edge Comp, and offered up his 02 EZ to me for a drastically reduce price. After groveling to the CFO, The Money was sent, and the EZ was installed today.

WOW! My otherwise stock ETH/DEE smokes now, and has quite a bit more "Go Baby Go" to it. The next trip to the mountains should be quite fun, not to mention if I can find this guy.

Now I really need to focus on some gauges. The AFE and the lack of a muffler should keep the EGT's down, but better safe than sorry. Some day I will get soem injectors and I will be all done...

To the previous owner of the EZ, Thank you very, very much.

As soon as I can get back on my feet with the pocket money, I will return the favor to someone else, or maybe even you!!

Took my first long trip with the new box. WOW!! It is so nice to be running at 60mph, floor it to pass someone, and be back in your own lane in less than 5 seconds. Especially at an altitude of 7500'. Going over Eisenhower pass (%6 and 7% grades for at least 6 miles at a stretch) empty no sweat, especially when you have to drop to 40 to wait for a slot to pass someone. Loaded with about 1. 5K#'s of granite coming back, and still able to hold 70mph with acceleration to spare. Loaded now drives like she was stock and empty.

I was running neck and neck with a 2500 CTD SWB with an enclosed utility bed, gauges and judging from the smoke had some sort of BOMB. It was so nice not being left behind.

A little paranoid about the ETG's. Still no gauges so I said screw the speed limit and tried to keep the RPM's at at least 2k and made sure that the throttle response did not indicate lugging. Water temp climbed a bit past 190 (one needle space), I was close enough to the top to let off it and coast down the other side for a cool off. I never heard the fan kick in, so I hope all is well.

The silencer ring has to go back in. Much more noise now at cruising speeds (this does not make sense, boost should still be low). I will check hose connections and shaft play first.

I got home and needed a booster shot for my BOMBing vaccination, so I looked at the checking account balance, and the monthly fixed expenses list. That should hold for a while.

Hey Sticks, glad to hear you got an EZ. Speaking of 2500's to keep up with. Watch out for a 2wd white one. Anyway, I don't think you have any thing to worry about EGT wise unless you were to pull heavy and hard. Wait till you get gauges and injectors, then you'll really get hooked.

If I ever see that particular 2500 with the grill guards and TDR badge rolin' up on my tail, I will politely step to the side. You're WAY outta' my league:eek:

I've said it before, and it's getting harder to keep myself convinced. Gauges, Edge EZ, DD1's, and I'm done...

... bigger turbo, maybe 2's or 3's, super clutch, adjustable comp, hood scoop...
