PC= Political Crap

This week one of the guys got in trouble for having a "non-standard" Desktop theme.



It was a pic of Jennifer Love Hewitt is a slinky outfit. It was not objectional or pornographic.



It was tastefull.



Now he is under investigation by security and they are reviewing his past history to see if they need to discipline (fire) him.



All this because some Stupid Clam feels inadequate.

These days you have to CYA, right or wrong it is the truth.



I am glad the industry I work in is DOMINATED by right leaning men. Very few women in my business, and the ones that are have been around enough to know that PC is left at home. I have no problem working with a woman, but she had better not expect to be treated differently.

PC has been a major factor in my workplace for quite a few years. I can't help to wonder then why most of our jobs will be outsourced to China in the not to distant future.



One of the events that stands out in my mind happened maybe a dozen years ago. The R&D area had a rather diverse group of people. Many cultures, lots of doctorates, etc. That and school were about the only exposure some ever had. No concept of the "real world".



I don't know about anyone else but I hold the door for people. I don't care who is following me, hands full or not, I hold the door. There were two women (or were they?) who would take you to task for holding the door. They would let you know in no uncertain terms that they were very capable of opening their own doors.



Been there, done that.

Been there, done that.

I nearly always hold the door for the person behind me, if the timing is about right, though I usually proceed through first. I'll even adjust my gait to make the timing about right.

As to women who insist they can open the doors themselves, I'll say, "OK. " and close it on them. I agree with Gary's final sentiment, but I would still politely decline with women like *these*; I'd almost be inclined to invite them to catch Auto Prosthetic Penile Rectalitis, though.

PC is something the world can definitely do without. Dignity and respect, however, are a different story.

The co. I work for is about as PC as you can get. All one can do around here is keep a low profile.

One of the guys where I work got fired for saying "Ok hun" on the radio.

Well, I got called in to cover. My (at the time) boss had ME drive him out. My boss was a body builder. ROFLMAO!!!Must have been afraid of him. :-laf

The guy that got fired was a drunk, and the company just wanted something to fire him for. I guess if they fired him for being a drunk, they'd get sued.

The funniest part is, the woman was uuuuggglllllyyyyyyyyyy!!!!

I told the fired employee(when I was driving him out ) that he probibally sat next to her at a safety meeting and didnt know she was a woman. He agreed!!!
