Hello. My dog went after a critter under the hood (i left it up) and pulled the pcm harness completely out. This caused all 3 connectors to be pulled apart.

I have located pcm connectors and partial wiring (cut out of 98) and purchased on eBay. My question is how to proceed? Attempt to replace broken shells on existing connectors or re-pin the new ones with the old pins?

A third possibility would be to cut existing harness and splice new connectors with pigtail.

It seems pretty difficult to remove the pins as the "initial" retaining mecanism are 2 little plastic tabs that rest against the shoulder in the pins. They are very fragile and I have broken a couple spreading with a small jewelers screwdriver.
I have ordered extraction tool 6934 and hopefully this will help.

Wondering if anyone has experience re-pinning these connectors or would suggest a better route?

97 ram 3500 5.9 with only 74k so I really want to fix my truck!!!

Thanks
