OK quick question.....

Where does a dealer attach an authorized software update label when they have reflashed a PCM and/or ECM? The TSB says that for the PCM attach it to the PCM but where exactly is the PCM and what does it look like? The same question applies to the ECM, where exactly is it located and what does it look like?

The dealer didn't want to perform to TSB's that I requested but relented once I pushed a little harder..... Problem is now I am wondering if they actually did them or just gave me lip service:mad:. I can't find any new labels under the hood anywhere. The TSB's also mention a label called an "authorized modification label" that should be attached near the VECI label, what and where is the VECI label?

Thanks for any help,

Doug S.

Doug,

When I had my ECM flashed for the "intermittant stumble" the dealer put a sticker in front of the radiator indicating the TSB number and date. The ECM is located under/behind the fuel filter. The ECM also has a sticker indicating TSB number.

Hope this helps. .

Doug...

The PCM is right behind your airbox on the firewall. Most stickers I've seen end up right by the radiator in the front. I couldn't get them to do a reflash for me either. Said it wasn't in the right date range yet when I look it up it is. I'm going to find a dealer I can work with yet!!

Well thanks for the info... . Looks like the dealer just told me what I wanted to hear:mad:. I still have the paperwork stating it was done, maybe I will go to another dealer and see if I can get them to check it out..... In any case I think I will have a little talk with the service dept. early next week.
