Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) PCM update

I understand that an update is available for the PCM that will raise shift points, including lock-up speed. Can anyone confirm this and give me an idea what to expect to pay for it?



Is this done through a DC dealer?

It won't change your shift points but it will change your lockup speed. Mine locks up OD/off @30mph, OD/on @53mph.

Don't know what it cost but some have mentioned about $50.

The TSB for mine was 21-04-95.



Edit: I see in your signature you've got the RE, it might change your shift point. Your TSB will be different.

I'd love to move my OD shift point from 50 up to 55-60. Is this possible?

There must be a way to add a value or change the pcm with out buying a controller. I have wondered if some command could be changed or a input could be altered to affect the out put to cause the desired result. Jim

I'm not certain, but I believe the controller DDT sells gives you this ability. Someone chime in if I'm wrong on this. I would like to know what they sell for at DDT if they do give the this ability to change the OD shift point to what suits your needs. Anyone have one, and does a second mortgage need to be taken out to buy one?
