Just got back from Piers shop, and have to say a big thanks to Piers, and Louise, and everyone at PDR, a special thanks to Bushwacker Bob, Nascar Mark for their help, Mark for helping the guy's with there kdp's. The turkey was great, the beer was cold, great time all around.

Piers I think we should have another BS session the week before you move the shop, and give the" dance studio" somethimg to complain about:-laf .

A big THANK YOU to Piers, Louise and others from PDR for hosting this session. The turkey was delicious. I watched Bill (Caldwell) and Mark try to put the KDP to rest on Bill's truck, but guess what the dreaded KDP had started to migrate out - so next Friday Bill's truck goes under the knife and that potential problem will be put to rest. Next Bill and I under the supervision of Mark laid the KDP to rest in my truck in a little over an hour - we had to stop and watch the smoke show that Piers put on. Those poor tires were still smoking and hot after he stopped. It was good to put a few more faces to names. Had a great time. :D :D

Again PDR thank you.

Thank-you Piers Louise the two Marks and Harry for giving so freely of yourselves on your day of to give us a place to bomb our trucks and enjoy the deep fried turkey. Nascar Mark gave a pump seminar for our 5trucks and then proceeded to do some pump tune ups on some of the trucks that were in attendance and as AlK said some interesting demonstrations of diesel performance were shown. bill

Boy I wish I could've been there--it sounds like it was a blast! A bit too much of a drive for me though. :D

Oh well, maybe after I build up a little more leave time... .

Mike

Ok you guys, is Piers going to move again..... 200 st exit is no good now! I will make it up there again this year to see the PDR crews and the DTT crews.

Jim

I made a post on the Bombers site about today. But just in case some of you don't go there, this was the BEST get together I have ever been to. A very big thanks to Piers and his wife and crew for having us there.

And for those of you that know I borrowed Pier's turbo. OH MY GOSH! Not only did the power come WAY up, I used half the fuel coming home. With the improvements That I can feel already, I think any of you first genners that want more power and drivability should concider one of these. And it sounds cool too.

Now if I can just talk him out of it. But it really needs to be polished.

And since Piers went to the trouble to hold this little event for us, I wonder if he would let us come up and help him move when he is ready. I have a 22 foot flat-bed trailer. Think I'll call him and see if he will accept the help.

But once again, it was a GREAT time. And I got to meet some new people and see some old ones again. Always a treat.

Dave,

I must say that is one sharp looking engine compartment - just may have to get one of those polishers to keep me busy in my spare time.

Also purchased one of those "C" shaped injection pump wrenches from Piers. I would also like to thank Nascar Mark for reviewing and talking to a number of us about the VE pump.

I'd like to add my personal thanks to the entire bunch of folks at PDR for asking nothing and hosting the entire day.

With the help of "Pete" the turkey meister, ( I still say that thing looked like a parts washer with synthetic in it). . they went thru abut 5, 15-16 lb turkeys, and what a feast..... :)

I'd say at this point that the issue of dowel pins on 1st Gen trucks is no longer a matter of debate, ... fix them or pay the price. .

BCaldwell's had backed out enough that the 'retainer tab' could not be inserted, which means one thing. . it's come out to the point of dropping. . NOT GOOD!!!

The weather held off pretty well the entire day, and there was a couple of odd (somewhat blueish) fog banks that rolled in... . strange how that happens... I personally got a serious 'razzing' for only having one wheel turning but it did smoke up pretty good,... and me with no stick to fight the dogs off,... not a pretty sight ;)

Of course I must say that Piers was off his game ;) a bit since normally the fire department shows up mid day to put out the fires ;)

We did get a visit from the local constabulary regarding the goings' on out back... Oo. Oo. it seems the girly dance club was having trouble hearing the music over the thunder. .

Wildman was in fine form too... he did a bit of tweaking on a couple trucks and that resulted in one or two "wanting more".

He had a great burnout (both wheels;)) now all we gotta do is try to get his truck to keep running after he does them. . ;) he did manage to stop before he got to the wall though, that's always good.

With the front parking lot pretty well packed with us 1st gen guys, it was a heck of great day.

Hey guys, I'd like to thank all of YOU too... for taking the time to drive up/down and hang out for the day. We had some from Wash. state, as well as 5 hours a way, from the interior of the province who drove through snow both ways to be there... .

Saturday's turnout and participation likely means that it won't be the last one we have...

Congratulations on stepping up and making it work. . Nice job. !!

Bob.

Glad everyone had a good time. :) Thanks for everyone who made it out and a big thanks to Piers,Louise,Harry,Mark,Mark and Bob for making it work. ;)

I would just like to say a big thankyou to all that made the effort to attend. I had a great time. Next time we'll do it in our new place... . hopefully moving in in mid March, where we'll have much more room & a dyno to play on :D

Thanks again, Piers

RGT, that turbo is a hx35 that Piers modifies in a way only he can. He can do yours or you can buy one already done. Of all the mods I have done, this has to be the most noticeable in performance and driveability. Other than flooring it, the place where you relly notice it working is in the mid-range area.

We have a hill on the way to my place that is a 11 percent grade. Normally I would use 3/4 throttle to maintain 50 mph going up. With this turbo I noticed I only need 1/2 throttle.

Climbing Conway hill on I-5 southbound I normally use 1/2 throttle to maintain 75mph. With the new turbo I use 1/4 throttle.

Wide open, it cleaned up almost all of my smoke once the boost came up. And by the way, before turbo boost was 25lbs, after turbo is 34lbs.

OH YEA, I can live with this!
