Which performance mod is the best for me...

Another Fuel Box to Consider

Finished up my install of the PDR External Wastegate as of a few hours ago. Took it for a drive and found right away the ATS manifold took away the blat and roughness sound I sometimes had from the stacks, both at idle and when getting up in the R's. I still have the stock HX35 for now, a non wastegated turbo is on the way, which prompted me to get er on. So heres what I saw with the stocker with the wastegate disabled. Spoolup came on 100-150 rpm sooner, egts down a little, not enough time to give a good average though, Ill find out soon and post some before and after. Now for the wastegate, at WOT it seems to start opening as soon as 20 psi when really pushing and loading it hard. Boost climbs to 29lbs and holds rock steady. This is with no pressure on either side of the piston inside the wastegate, and with no pressure on the spring adjusted via allen screw and locknut on top of the assembly. You can put pressure (boost) to the top port to delay opening or to the bottom to make it open sooner when using an inline regulator, as well as adjust the allen screw, and there is a stiffer spring that comes with it. Sound could be described as a blast of air somewhat like opening the drain on the bottom of an air compressor. Loud enough to hear in the cab, and judging by the peoples reaction at the gas station I ripped by they could hear it too. Looks to be a winner in my book if someone wants to run a non-gated turbo or twins. Ill post more data as I get it, along with some dyno numbers for a baseline before I get my new turbo. Installation was a breeze, right by the book. Plus when you pop the hood it looks serious. :D All in all Im happy with the setup, if any question Ill answer them the best I can, if I cant call Piers or Haisleys. Im not affiliated with any vendor, just a happy customer.
