I got my PDR HX-35 off ebay and it arrived tonight. I started at 5:30 and was off playing by 7:00. I kept the 16 cm housing on the truck. It is great. The truck seems a bit quieter. Turbo spool up and accelearation are greatly improved. It sounds like someone put a jet engine under the hood. Top boost is up 1 to 2 lbs. WOT acceleration to 65 mpg is awesome. There is no need to press the accelerator nearly as far down to get the same response as it used to. Well worth the money. I can only get 900*F on the pyro with an empty truck. I can't wait to tow with it.

Jeremy:D Oo. Oo. Oo.

Hmmmm..... I KNOW I had a map of his neighbourhood arond here somewere... ... ... ..... :D:D

That much difference eh Jeremy. . ?? boy, the Mrs' is gonna hurt me bad.....

Bob.

Oh yea come on down. Get that front bumper of yours within driving distance. :D

You will walk back to your truck and go. :--)

I've been playing with JR2's old one, and I've noticed the same thing! Man that thing sounds much cooler than my H1C. I haven't had the opportunity to flog it really hard on my favorite hill, but it definitely spools better and is noticeably cooler on the high end.

One more thing to put on my Christmas list#@$%! , it just get's longer and longer... ... , I just need to give that money tree in the back yard a good shake;) .

I found this thing on e-bay and figured out that it was the cheapest way I was ever going to get one. Anyone need an H1C with a 12 cm housing for cheap? I will report back on the fuel milage. I think this would be a good upgrade with/after injectors. Well worht he money.

Hey Bob, I will give you directions, but beware of Philip. However I have three favorite friends, Mr. Colt, Mr. Smith and Mr. Wesson. :D Just kidding.

Withers, I shook the money Christmas tree. Selling Christmas trees helped finanace this venture, LOL.

Now I have to go find an excuse to get the trailer out and do some hauling, hmmmm.

Jeremy

MWD,

If you are planning to tow much, or BOMB your truck, then the PDR turbo is a good use of money (IMHO). I am very happy with it and think it is the 2nd best upgrade (right after injectors) I have made. You can buy a new PDR HX-35 for $600, have a stock HX-35 rebuilt/modified for $400. I paid $375 for it (it has 10K on it). The only way I could come close to the $400 range is if someone would have given me a free stock HX-35. Not the best deal I have ever gotten, but not too bad. It is worth it to get the grin on your face after driving it the first time:)

Jeremy

well Jeremy:

Glad to hear you're happy with your new turbo setup. I'm pretty happy with the way mine is running so far but haven't towed yet since these modifications. Looks like you might have to start selling some hay so you can haul it with the gooseneck. The price is getting steep around here; it seems nobody has any and the ones that do are making a killing. If you're not going to haul any hay, just hook up the trailer and put a tractor or two on and see how it does. Isn't it odd that when you really need to pull a trailer you don't really want to, but when you get ideas you just want to hook to one for no reason:D

That sounded like a great deal. I'd say it was well worth the money, from what i've heard on here about those setups. I was going to purchase one when I still had my stock 21 cm housing, but a buddy had a 12 cm housing from his 2nd generation truck and he just gave it to me. So, all I had in it was the labor and the $8 in gaskets. That was my cheapest upgrade; I gained 10 more pounds of boost and a LOT more low end.

Have a good one.

Jeremy,

Hey I know those same guys Mr Smith, Mr Wesson (model 29), and I also use Mr Remington when I want to "reach out and touch someone"... ;);):D

Philip,

I don't know about you, but if I tried to take that blessed bumper off myself, about all you'd see is the bumper on the ground and 2 arms and 2 legs stickin out from under it... . see I made a mistake. .

When I put the bumper on (Warn), I installed the winch... . then a few weeks later my brother broke out the welding gear, hijacked a bunch of gov't issue Ferry railing pipe, and began to sparkin.....

Blast if when we were done we hadn't considered how we'd get the winch off after the brush guard piping was on... ... DOH !!!!

That sucker is heavy, big time... . and contributes to front end sag I bet.....

LOL, I can just see this... . Philip under the front of my truck wrenchin off the bumper, and me under his wrenchin out the LSD... . oh, and Jeremy sellin popcorn and bandaids..... :D

On the up side, it has served it's purpose well though,,,, in fact the nickname for the truck came from that 'service'... . :D:D

bumper 1, coyote 0. You wouldn't think they'd make such a THUD... but they do...

BTW, yes, the turbo upgrade is a major improvement for our trucks...

Bob.

I installed the pdr hx35 on my truck yesterday, but can't say the boost is any higher. It sure brought out the turbo whissle though and seems a bit more responsive. Maybe i need to turn up fuel a bit more.

Popcorn for sale, watch the nuts

Bob,

I guess you have me, I am not that good of a shot with my Paul Mauser (8mm or 6. 5mm). I guess I can make enough money from Philip for paying me to pull the bumper off his chest, selling popcorn, and by providing hand cleaner for you to get the 80W-90 off, LOL:D That would compensate me for loosing my HS-35 to some crazy Canadian. Better yet, just bring your fly rod and we'll go fishing. Philip can hold the cooler.

rdodd,

I think I picked up between 1 and 2 pounds of boost on the top end. I am at stock fuel settings on the main fuel screw. I am sure with a 10K load on the boost will be up.

Jeremy

Jeremy,

I don't know about you not being a good shot, anyone who "duffs" squirrells can't be to hard of seein... :D

I gotta get my brother to back onto the darn deer's foot so he stays put long enough for me to get a bead on 'im... ;)

Tough on rear windows too... . :p

Fly fishin ey... . hmmmm, ya, I haven't ripped the touq off anybody in a long time... ( brother again). :D seriously... oh and boat anchor ropes too. . I snag them regular like..... LOL, my brother says when I'm done fly fishin for the day, the lake looks like a warm beer that's been shook and opened too fast... . smart aleck...

Bob.

Hey can I get tickets to this turbo swipe-in, bumper crushing shootout. Sounds like great enternainment. Oo.

I'll bring my grandaddy's old 8 gauge side by side  just to keep things fair. ;) :p

ROFLMAO

I would have the bumper and winch off in about 5 minutes or less. I used to run a junkyard. The blue tiped dragon (cutting torch) works real fast. No strain or pain involved. Take 6 inches of frame with it. Use jumper cables on the winch. Then the bumper is self loading. LOL

Well guys, I have the popcorn machine fired up. The reloading press is going full tilt, and I have the video camera ready to go. This could be fun.

I did get on the interstate today and wow that trubo is fun. You can scoot right on down the road with it. Of course I pulled on to a double lane statee road and got beat bad by an F-150. Doh!!! Hey Bob, why everyone is swiping things, I think I am gong to put some finger prints on your POD injectors, then I could smoke a couple of F-150s. :D
