Searching for a used mallory bhaf mount

transmission

Well I have had the PDR HX-50 installed on my truck for about a week now. I drove from Piers' shop back to PA and around town a lot so far. All I can say is WOW! As for my impression of the turbo I feel it is going to be a big winner for guys wanting to stay with a single but need more than a HX-40 size charger. I have not been able to do any dyno testing with it and besides the #'s generated would be worthless for comparison due to the modifications that have taken place to my truck.

What I will say is the HX-50 was able to pull the filter minder down more than 15" under WOT using a brand new Mega Cannon filter! The turbo spools about like a standard B-1 but generated airflow is well in excess of what I ever saw running the B-1. EGT's are about 50*-75* higher running down a level road @ 75 mph. As for EGT's under WOT I can't answer how much change there is because I now have more fuel than when I was running the B-1.

My recommendation would be for anyone wanting more turbo than a HX-40 to give consideration to the PDR HX-50.

Good info, Doug.

How's the rest of the truck? I've been curious to hear how it's running since the latest upgrades. :)

Better than ever, I hope.

Glad for you

Doug. . Glad your'e happy with the new turbo. . What size exhaust housing are you running??? Keep us informed. It's good to get different perspectives of location, altitude, mods your'e running for comparison.

Steve

Steve,

I am running the smaller housing, I believe it is a 15cm.

Willyslover,

Yup the pump is on. Lots of fuel!

Chris,

The truck is running well. It pulls strong to 3600-3700 rpm, Piers recommends no high because of the valvetrain limits. I will have to get the N20 all hooked up and head to the dyno for a tune job.

I have a Haisley HX-50 and went to the track last night. My best run was.

60ft-2. 167

1/8-9. 3

1/4-14. 493

mph95. 39

With a little driver training and a little tuning with my existing set-up I will break into the 13's. I was waving at a corvette driver next to me the whole time on this run. His response time was. 415 and mine. 676 and his time was14. 452. I should have beat him lol

The 50 sure does smoke around town. I look like a fully loaded dump truck.

I am really enjoying my PDR HX-50. It rocks!!!! I have moved my #0 plate back . 030 to keep the boost under 56 PSI and my smoke is all but gone, but even so It has alot more power SOP than with the HX-40. It spools up fine I've only lost 150 RPMs over where I was with the PDR HX-40. It doesn't bark at all:cool:

At full throttle in 3rd I see 46 PSI, in 4th 50 PSI, and in 5th 55 PSI. I have picked up 15 MPH on the on ramp I get on the freeway every morning. And I find it too easy to speed with, I have to really watch the speedo when going down the freeway. This baby likes to run.....

hello sounds like every one likes their new pdr turbo?!... it is acombo / hybrid of a hx50 and a hx55 correct what parts are from which turbo ??. . i am asking as i recently picked up a hx55 turbo with a 20cm exhaust housing and i was debating on trying it out as a single turbo or using it as a secondary for a twin setuop using my h1c strock turbo as the small turbo etc... any one know any specifics? . thanks

oh the turbo will be used on a p pump converted 89 lots of fuel hehe

later

deo

happy easter

Well today I dyno'd and the only change to my truck from the last dyno was the PDR HX-50 and moving my #0 plate back . 030 to keep the boost under 56 PSI. Before in Dec. I dyno'd 493HP and today 532HP. So with less fuel it made 39 more HP:D

It smokes before boost but the smoke is gone after 20 PSI. I NEED more fuel!!!!!Oo. Oo. Oo.

Right on Dee, I am trying to catch up here a bit you guys are getting carried away. I put on a brand new tweeked PDR 913 pump this weekend so stay tuned, I haven't fired it up yet because I am doing a little clean up before MM. ;)
