Yes, you are probably correct about not gaining too much. Financially, I can only swing the turbo right now. I can rework the exhaust to fit correctly and there appears to be plenty of room to the firewall. When I get my 3" brake sold, then I can get a 4" and do it right. But until then I have to try it this way. Or, I may just buy the turbo and wait till I got the coin to change it all.

Matt, hows the 40 working out for you? how about the brake? When I mount your old brake (on the truck that is), I'm gonna use the throttle pedal switch to activate the brake rather than the ecm connector. I figure I already have the switch so I might as well use it.

I had my co-worker turn one of those on his lathe 3 years ago after I blew up an HX40 and didn't want to change the downpipe to put the OEM HX35 back on. It saved alot of aggravation
The truck felt stronger with the HX35 dumping into a 4" down pipe. I thought I noticed a marked difference.![]()

AFAIK, nobody makes a 4" turbo mounted brake.

Pacbrake makes a very nice direct mount for the 40 series turbo.
