I should be receiving my pdr hx35 in a few days. Is this an easy install that i can do myself? Since i am hooking it up to my existing 16cm exhaust housing should i just leave the housing bolted up and unhook the compressor side and bolt the hx35 to it? Is there anything else i should know before installing it?

rdodd,

It is an easy job, just take your time. I will be doing the same thing you are sometime next week. I had the same idea of leaving the 16 cm housing bolted on the manifold and then just putting the PDR turbo on it. The only gasket needed is the oil drain gasket. I am going to never-sieze all of the bolts etc. Make sure everything is square and the turbine doesn't bind. Should be an easy install. Also make sure to prelube the turbo. You can either dump oil down the presuure oil port before you hook up the oil feed, or you can hook up the oil feed and disconnect the shut off selenoid and crank the engine and prelube it with the oil pump. I can't wait to find out the results, can you?

Oo. Oo. Oo.

Its faily easy but if you are not too experienced, like me, it can take quite a bit of time. Shop air is helpful in getting the waste gate hooked back up.

You don't have a wastegate, so that won't be an issue. If you purchased it new from PDR, then it will come with a set of installation instructions. Since you've already changed the exhaust housing once, it'll probably come off easily. When you install the new turbo, it is very helpful to snug down the bolts a bit (still allowing you to rotate the compressor and cartridge assy) and bolt on the turbo drain before you fully tighten the bolts on the exhaust housing. This way, you're sure to properly align the drain tube and avoid some
