I got my new PDR intercooler boots yesterday and started to put them on, but they are very hard to put on. I can put the upper boots on fine, but the lower boots are a real pain.

Does anyone have any suggestions for putting these boots on? What process do you put them on (ex: uppers first them lowers)?

Is it normal for you to need to bend/cut the sheetmetal around passenger and driver side lower boots?

On o1 trucks especcialy the sheet metal rides 1/4 inch off the boots anyhow. When they swell ... they cut themselves. Do your self a favor and anyone else who reads this weather stock or not... . BEND THAT METAL BACK!

We now return you to your regularly scheduled reading :D

I bent mine back because it was rubbing also. I used hair spray as a lube, stays wet long enough to get them on then dries up with no left over lubricant. Some have mentioned that you could also boil them in some hot water first to make them softer. Good luck.

That is the best way I have heard and found to get them on. Heat can be a wonderful thing sometimes. :D
