Does this happen alot? The twins have only been on the truck for a few months. Bought used PDR piping, used PDR 40, then swapped the exhaust housing on the used PDR 40 for a twins ready housing from PDR. Been trying to figure out why I have a leak between my ats exhaust manifold and my pdr40. Yanked it all off this week and seen the cracks on the 40 housing flange. Is mine just a freak weak one, or do they all do this? I don't like the exhaust leak between the manifold and turbo.

I ended up notching out my ats manifold so I don't need that 3/8" spacer anymore. Put in a new gasket with the center section part in the gasket, drilled a hole through the web of the turbo so it can waste gate the front 3 cylinders too. And put it all together. I drove it yesterday alittle to get it up to temp, and now I'm gonna go retorque the turbo before I try full boost. But, I doubt it will hold.

Do you have some sort of brace to support the bottom turbo? If not you will crack the exhaust housing every time. Even with a support bracket on my bottom turbo my housing was severly cracked on my 40. That is a lot of weight to hang off those four bolts.

IMHO

Heat plus weight =bad things. If you are putting twins on, build a bracket to totally support the big turbo, by itself.

You can't see them, but that housing is literally spiderwebbed, with cracks. Note the large piece of cast missing, inside... any guesses where that went next? :{

Nope no support on the big turbo. I got the support kit from PDR, looks cheezy and you gotta weld it on under the truck, me no likey. I was gonna make my own, but I put it off. Kinda worried about the expanding and contracting with it mounted solid.

I go make one now.

You farm guys can tear up anything. Fortunately you tend to be able to fix anything. The cheesy bracket I sent pictures of seems to hold up. Especially if you add a second attachment point. Keep the slag out of your shirt. From the looks of it, those woodchuck murdering Pa guys are hard on stuff too.

I fear nothing that tastes like chicken. I see you are an Amsoil dealer. I'd like to get another quart of that stuff. I never had any luck with it in engines, but it is great for waterproofing my boots.
