I bought a used PDR40 thinking that all pdr40s were twin ready. Now I find out that the one I bought may not be twin ready. How do I tell the difference? What can I do to make it twin ready?

I noticed that most turbos just waste gate one side of the housing. Thinking of drilling a 1/2 hole through the middle so it could bleed off some pressure from the other side too. Bad idea?

The wastegate flapper inside the twin ready is much larger than in the regular 40. It also has that larger hole drilled through the center rib.

The rebuilders name is normaly on the turbo whom you can call. One way to tell is it modified to gate all 6 cyl. unlike the stock that only gates the 3 rear cylinders. Also the twin units from piers have a large piece of steel tube that fits in the modified exhaust side.

Yep, just like I thought, it's not twin ready. We'll get it twin ready one way or the other. Thanks Guys.

Well

I may be mistaken, but I do believe that it is just the housing that needs to be modified and Piers' and his crew can do that for you! I will be checking on this in the not to distant future. Hopefully :D I can't wait. Oo. Oo. Oo.

Yep, that was my first thought too, send it to PDR. I bought my PDR40 used on TDR, it's in awesome shape, I love the TDR classifieds.
