Any word on the fuel pump from source automotive called the PE 4200?? my LP is dead and need a reliable replacement, half the price of the FASS, but does not have filtration. . Lee
Seems this pump had a few issues a while ago but have since been re-tooled a little and are holding up. Rip I'm sure has the latest and greatest so I'll be ordering mine from him next week. With a two year warranty, can't hurt to try it. JMHO
do a search on the PE 4200. you will find a good bit of info. i have one and so far it works good, but it is noisy. i am not convinced that you need all the extra filtering that the FASS gives you. just use good fuel rom a high volume station and change you stock filter every 12k-15k miles and you should be good to go. just my opinion.
No the FASS is $600. Talked with Rod at Wildcat Diesel and he has been working with PE on retooling the 4200 for awhile now and he has some models out testing in rigs with very good results.
The newest pump he said should be out in a couple months. I believe he is going to sell this with a mounting bracket to bolt up where the original Carter pump went, so it's out of the way and protected. He also said the PE4200 will require the High Flow Kit to alleviate head pressure and increase flow.
Hope that Rod can keep us posted on when the new pump will be ready to sell.
I have had one on for a month and a half er so. I like it a lot. However, I did help instal one about a month ago that is already toast. I am sure the vendor will more than take care of it.
