For those interested , ran across Peak DEF at Costco today for 9.99 per jug. Date was 21359, just a month old . Now if the Mopar fuel filters would go on sale again on Amazon for $70-75 for the pair , its been like what a couple years since ??

Still over $1/gal more than just going to the local pump.

But a good price if you don't have a local pump.

Have a truck stop not far from my home, but as much DEF as I use I just buy the Peak, not too concerned with a couple bucks.
While on the subject of truck stops ,lets go off topic . What are the thoughts on the EFS fuel cards for discounted diesel ?? Not sure I have ever seen them discussed here on this forum ,although several RV forums have had threads on them .

Don't stock up on it. Buy it fresh when you need it. Code 21359 means it was made 359 days before 01/01/2021.

I look at a different way it was made with 359 days left in 2020 , so 365 days in the year so what Jan 6th this year ?, so its about a month old . If you are going thru it pretty fast , it wouldn't hurt to buy a few jugs if you like using Peak .

Wow, we got the same answer!

Do you have to go to a truck stop to get DEF at the pump (locally)?

Interestingly enough there still is not a single fueling station in this county with DEF at the pump.

The exception may be the couple of truck stops along the freeway on the other end of the county , but their fuel prices are always so much higher than local stations I never use them.

Yes I do. There is a truck stop with a DEF pump and underground tank about 3 miles from work. It’s a little out of the way, but as often as I need DEF it’s not a big deal. I don’t but diesel there, just DEF.

No mess, no garbage, and easy.

What is the Costco stock number, I won't use the pump DEF. Not trashing the pump DEF, if I had a Tractor that took 15-50 gallons, then it makes since. If I stick with only one brand that is accessible just about anywhere, then Peak DEF works for me. I don't go through enough DEF to warrant stocking it. You can always find it on sale, and if not (like friday night) it's not that much more. I was at a shell/Green Valley Grocers station here in Vegas and went to pay for the 2.5 gallon bottle and it was $20.00, I asked the clerk about the price, we walked over to the shelf, and it was missplaced over a price of +12.99. I refused and went about pumping the fuel. When I get to a 1/2 tank of DEF, I start looking for Peak on sale, and the Costco price is a good price.

On a side note: My buddy's SIL used to purchase the cheap stuff (If I remember correct, Walmart.) until he had an issue that cost alot of money, FCA denied warranty due to contamination, he only buys Mopar now, whether or not it was the fault of the walmart DEF.
