Another Canadian Manufacturer with a sparse network of US Dealers. Anyone have any dealings with them? They have some pretty unique floor plans.

My wife and I have looked at these units and have been impressed with their floor plans as you mentioned. The other thing that impressed us was the quality of the cabinet construction. To get that quality in some trailers there would be at least a $10,000 Canadian difference. I live about 90 miles from North Battleford, Saskatchewan where they have a manufacturing plant. I have not been there to see their construction but want to check that out sometime. When we get ready to buy a new camper this is a manufacturer we will look at.

We currently have a 1988 22' Travelaire gooseneck that is also Canadian made. We go up north into the Canadian Shield on some unimproved roads towing a fishing boat behind the camper. Lots of fun listening to the Cummins on the way there and back and some good fishing for Northern Pike and Pickerel in between.

Stan- I wish they had more US dealers. I've seen some of their motorhome units and they looked pretty slick. The local dealer can not order the fifth wheels for us. Seems there are alot of nice RV products coming out of Canada these days- Titanium is another one we've seen and liked. Maybe the boys in Indiana need to put away the staple guns long enough to see how they're doing it up in the Great White North, Eh?;)

Titanium

Dkevdog-you mentioned Titanium. Travelaire is owned by the same people that own Titanium. Travelaire is manufactured in Red Deer, Alberta and makes a unit like the Titinaium. My wife and I looked at the Titanium and felt that the price did not reflect the quality of construction. I spent about 5 minutes in a Genesis, the Travelaire version, and was quite impressed by what I saw. When we are ready to buy, the Genesis will be one we will look at. I talked to the Travelaire dealer about the difference between the Titanium and the Genesis and he said that Travelaire has always been able to do their own thing as a manufacturer. I asked about the design and he said when they got the first Genesis in it was still bug season up here. Only the top 6 inches had any evidence of bugs, and that is on a 7 hour trip from Red Deer. I do not know if Travelaire sells into the US. If you are interested www.travelaire.com is their web site.

My last camper was a Kodiak, manufactured by Peak. It was very high quality, but what impressed me the most was the way it was constructed. It also had heated tanks and was very light for a 9' slide in. The one drawback in its rock solid construction was the fiberglass roof. Noise wise, in the rain, it was hard to get any sleep, sounded like sleeping in an un-insulated pole barn. My new camper has a rubber roof that is nice and quiet.

Stan- Got word back today that Travelaire does not currently sell in the US. They do however have a few dealers who will sell and ship to the US. I'm still waiting to hear/find of a Peak Mfg. dealer in the area.
