I've got an issue going on with my California truck smog check that is coming up in about 2 weeks. About 1 week ago it generated the P1740 code which I cleared and after driving the truck about 100 miles all the monitors were complete. Ever since the trans was rebuilt several years ago this issue has come and gone...but the trans shifts just fine and lockup engages between 40-45 MPH. The trans builder has checked and replaced all the usual causes re; governor pres. solenoid-transducer-TCC solenoid and now is saying that the TC may need to be replaced, which I kind of find hard to believe because the truck only has about 25,000 since rebuild including the TC.
Here's my dilemma; truck hasn't generated a code since the last week and the monitor clears after driving, but that PENDING P1740 KEEPS RE-APPEARING on the scanner and the scanner reads NO CODES PRESENT. My OBDII has a memory function and it's keeping track of the pending code but shows no history, other than the incident last week, of the truck generating the P1740 code but that pending thing keeps coming back.
Any ideas suggestions would be greatly appreciated
